Upon morning sunrise
When all is still
the ever stretching sky
hosts a dramatic shade
of robin egg blue
Frigid temperatures
cause all creatures
to huddle
the cold away
in deep slumber
Within all this
A day of new promises
is born
When all is still
the new day
whispers a covenant of renewal
and most importantly
of hope

When all is still
in the depths of the night
After the commitments and chores
of the day are complete and tidy
I settle my body and release the day
Forgetting it’s heavy sorrows
that may weigh me down
I inhale the satisfaction
Of doing my best
and exhale the disappointments
that would otherwise haunt me.
When all is still
I know this day was just
as it was meant to be
with all its beauty
and pain
When all is still
I thank God for it all
I plowed through
with fortitude

All My Best,
Mary ❤️

Mary, you have a talent in writing poetry – your post says a lot with just a few words 🙂
